There are hidden gems everywhere and I’m lucky to see lots of them ! This place in Inland South Canterbury is especially dear to my heart and I’m proud to say I’m a current member of this club despite not having skied there since 1980 !!
Similarly, Fairlie, just down the road from Fox, is also a special place. Steam loco AB 699, ‘ the Fairlie Flyer ‘, has long since stopped running, although a wonderful interactive railway museum remains at Pleasant Point, some distance down the road towards Timaru.
Among Fairlie’s many secrets is this tiny place, ‘ Mackenzie Rose ‘, a must see when shopping for the wee people in our lives. Talk about small…so it sort of suits…
It’s right near the stunning bakery and a range of other local craft and artisan’s shops.
Being someone who appreciates ‘ hospitality ‘, I love our character hotels and bars and a cool beer at this place en route to Queenstown, is just the ticket…
So for any of your ‘ personally guided travel ‘ needs, make sure you contact Canterbury Trails. Feel free to ask for me as your guide too. www.canterburytrails.co.nz
As well as being able to help advise you on your travel needs, I’m also a New Zealand Justice of the Peace, Marriage, Civil Union and Same Sex Celebrant, so I can help arrange and officiate at your special day, or at a Celebration of Life. Yet there’s more…
Should you want to auction real estate, horse flesh, whatever…I’m a registered auctioneer with NZIME. To date I’ve a 100% success rate in selling property ‘ under the hammer ‘.
You might have also thought you’re too old to snow ski, have it on your bucket list, or it’s just a long time ‘ between drinks ‘, then join me at the PORTERS Ski Area, the closest chairlift to Christchurch, for my ‘Easy Riders ‘ ski programme. The focus is on fun and safety and the day is always rounded off with a complimentary drink !
So make sure you get hold of me direct for any of my services.
